Sex & Drug R'n'R
For a good start, the first post I send you talk about music. Or rather, of life lived in music. Everything stems from the fact that my old friend Alessandro missing for 20 years, (and I also wrote the first book published on the Cure), showed up to express solidarity. And down with them the memories. Ok aside a little arm. It was about 1985 and the media had just formed. For the uninitiated, was founded as a record label. At the beginning we did go out 3 albums Italian groups: Weimar Gesang ( http://www.electrocity.it/Discografie/weimar_gesang.htm ) style Joy Division / New Order, Simple Mind Chroma Gain type the first way, the Stranglers and Faded Image. PS: At this link you can not find a list of well-to-date with all our outlets but useful, I think, (http://www.electrocity.it/cataloghi/supporti_fonografici.htm ).
But Italy was close and there (besides the huge success of Christian Death which I will talk more), there was this beautiful project on behalf of Living in Texas. Let me explain how born. Earlier this year, I went to London to search for groups for the label. Since I had just started writing for Rockerilla, I thought to take this opportunity to do some interviews. Since we came into possession of the nice mix of local debut of this band (rock style wave with much blood epic tendencies), I went to the address indicated on the cover. White Chapel area (I do not know if you have this, that of Jack the Ripper). You can imagine the neighborhood: the desert, houses not only ruined but still pulled down by the time of war! The road in question was a single pile of rubble and trash. Despite everything I approach the house number, and I find it almost completely demolished a building with a sign: the town of London, which is prohibited on the danger of collapse. Well, I'm about to leave when from inside the rubble, the first floor, a girl about 20 years comes out and says, "Looking anyone? Ah yes, the lead singer of Living is my boy, come on come soon. "Puzzled I go and find a welcoming environment even the best equipped, our local style squat or squat. We chat a bit, then my eye fell on the cover I bought the new NME. "Capers on the cover but this is you, reply:" Oh you are the lead singer of March Violets (which incidentally I loved). "Morale two interviews at once, then published by Rockerilla. Viewed that the marks were too popular, I ask the lead singer of Living interessagli if you could post a mini album for us, and maybe even do dates in Italy. A few months and we arrange everything. Disco and especially tour that is what I want to talk to you. So in four and quattrotto, with the contacts I have, I organize these dates: Milan, Perugia, Genoa, Piacenza, Turin, Florence, Rome and I will do directly with the group, Naples and Bari will do my friend Alex (of which I mentioned at the beginning). This was my longest and most complete experience on the road style sex, drugs and r'n'r (though in practice, by choice, I lived only r'nr). It 'was an incredible experience, think about how things work at the time: an unknown group had managed to do 300 to 500 people at night! With enthusiastic people: Florence was Pelù, the diaphragm and the whole gang. In Turin, the Big was beautiful filled with journalists Rockerilla and varied. In Perugia, a university town, a flood of foreigners (with recovery in the morning the group had spent the night in women's college rooms!). Rome great concert full and intense. Genoa scassatissimo but fascinating in a cinema / theater (perhaps the most evil live, thanks to their drummer phocomelic!). Piacenza little place in a disco out of the way in the hills (fighissimo!). Well what else to say, from touring the band is printed in the UK also live in Italy. The band, in short, will also get some success in England. They played quietly in London for 5 / 600 people. Then he disappeared. Alexander, just a few days ago, told me that Nic (bassist) for at least 8 / 9 years lived in Paris. Matt (the drummer) is the actor in London, Dan (the guitarist) is the artist, and Steve (the singer) he is also aa Paris. Nic is thinking of setting up a website with memorabilia of the Living. We'll see. For the rest I leave to you any comment.
